AVG is one of the world’s most popular security companies, and it’s more than likely that you’ve heard of them before. However, they don’t just do security for Windows, they also have a few apps available for Android like their Antivirus and Cleaner apps, which are getting updates today. AVG has over 200 million active users right now. And in today’s news they are announcing continual updates, so that all of those users will be up to date with the latest version of AVG’s apps. AVG is looking to help protect both old and new devices as well as keeping both old and new smartphones running as fast as they can. Which is where their Cleaner app comes in to save the day.

“From the number of devices we own, to the types of apps we use, the digital world is now more intrinsically linked with our lives than ever before; and this dependency shows no sign of stopping,” said Andrew Reid, SVP, Products at AVG Technologies.

Additionally, for the AVG AntiVirus app on Android we’re also getting a few new features added. One includes Better Malware protection. So you will be able to better protect your phone or tablet. This is thanks to new smart cloud scanning, shortened scan times and improved detection. We’re also looking at improved anti-theft, so AVG has improved their algorithms for remote location to be faster on both the FREE and PRO versions of the app. The Antivirus app is now more informative. It also has a new improved battery save mode.

Turning our attention to the AVG Cleaner app for Android, there’s really just one big feature in addition to the continual updates. Which is the new app manager. This gives users an overview of the most draining apps from a single screen and will help you to get rid of them all for you. Pretty great feature, especially for those that are running out of space, or might be having issues with their battery.

A couple of nice updates here for AVG’s sweet of products available for Android. There are some updates for their Mac and Windows products as well, which you can learn about from the source link down below.
